A ‘short’ description that tells a bit more about myself. Personally, I always find it hard to describe myself but here goes nothing;
Hi, I am Patrick Dankers, born on the 8th August of 1985 in Helmond (Noord-Brabant) and I still live there.
An IT-er who has had a fairly diverse number of jobs at very different ends of the sector (support / hosting / development). Inseparable from the party-scene because of my medium PFSquad.NU and a die hard Nintendo fan; see also NintendoReporters.com
In terms of work I have been working for years in the support, hosting industry at various hosting companies (in the field of shared hosting, virtual and dedicated servers). In addition, I have been able to focus both part and full time on development at a number of my previous employers (in the area of Laravel and mainly WordPress).
Since about 4-5 years I have also been involved in Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Web Site Optimization (WSO) in the field of my work because I find it great to make things tangible for the people not so tech savvy.
Further concrete interest in what I have done in terms of school, internships or work? Please check my Resume for a full picture of my educational and work history.
Besides all this, I am the enthusiastic head photographer, administrator and owner of PFSquad.NU.
A project that I started in August 2005 with several friends and something that has grown to a completely different form than that I and they first had in mind (only in a positive sense). We do a lot more than just taking pictures at various events at home and abroad. Think of taking care of press releases, downloads etc.
But the most important thing is that I still do it with a lot of pleasure. Especially because we still get so many nice reactions to what we do.
To directly answer one question that I quite often get as a photographer,: “What kind of equipment do you use ?!” the answer is here: My equipment.
Yes, as you can see, I am part of Camp Canon … for which I have my reasons.
Of course having good equipment is an advantage, but never forget that equipment alone does not take pictures, it is about what you consider doing and add as a photographer as a whole!
Unfortunately, in my opinion this is often forgotten or underestimated; it is more than just pressing a button!
In addition, in my free time I am often busy thinking up new possibilities for PFSquad.NU. I often write and program new functionalities for that, which I pass on to core developers so that more people will ultimately benefit.
Do you have any suggestions for improvement? Do not hesitate to let us know and we can also make a solution for that.
In June 2014, I launched another project: Vindjefototerug.nl, something that, in my opinion, was missing in the entire party scene. Unfortunately, this project did not seem to be able to set the necessary feet in the ground and I decided in 2017 to leave this project for what it is.
In October 2017 I did start with another project; NintendoReporters. With my love for Nintendo, something I think is a part of my life for 25+ years, I simply wanted to do something more. My goal is to take news in the Netherlands, and who knows beyond, to a higher level.
You’re going to hear a lot of it … I know that for sure!
With all of the above I think you have a reasonable picture of who I am and what I do. If you still want to know more about me then it is advisable to take a look at my Social Media channels;
Add me, like, follow and everything else that comes into play with those!
